DescriptionWalter Terry speaks about the injuries dancers suffer: the variation in severity, their causes, the necessity of warming up for class or performance, and particular examples of accidents and injuries; the dangers of putting young girls on pointe without adequate training at too early an age; more examples of injuries. Terry then discusses the healthy aspects of dance training: as exercise to keep fit; as physical therapy for muscular or skeletal problems, injuries, and disease; Hindu mudras; dance as therapy for the mentally and emotionally disturbed; and the longevity of dancers, with reference to many examples.
