Recorded for the Kennedy Center and the National Symphony Orchestra and not for a broadcast, a profile of the 20th century's most celebrated cellist Mstislav Rostropovich narrated by Robert Montiegel with commentaries by Rostropovich himself, and Lynn Harrell (cellist); Maxim Schostakovich, Hugh Wolff (music conductors); Joel King (stage manager); and Nadya Efremov (Rostropovich's personal assistant).
