Biographical/historical: The ballet Fantasca, also spelled Fantaska (choreography, Paul Taglioni; music, Peter Ludwig Hertel) was first presented at the Königliche Theater in Berlin in 1869. It is not certain whether this print actually depicts a scene from the ballet, which was a spectacular production with a large cast and many costume changes.
