Description
This work features lectures of two conceptual artists from Montana and their works: Patrick Zentz (Video 1) and Dennis Voss (Video 2: first half). Both Zentz and Voss describe how they used shapes and exterior landscapes of the countryside to make art, into photography, moving mechanical installations, outdoor performance installations, sculpture from natural objects and machinery (Voss's "Demon stag" and Zentz's "Crank", for example) and drawings. According to Voss, both artists have inspired each other in several projects. Relâche performs the experimental vocalise/instrumental piece "AH/Aeolian Associations, variations for ensemble", composed by Julia Haines (Video 2: second half). Video 3 contains the lecture of Ontario video artist Noel Harding, including various video clips, commercials, television reports and photo slides of his works (1978-1986), and a video he made for Amsterdam television ("Wortelen, Konijnen, Olifanten" = "Carrots, Rabbits, Elephants") in June 1986.
