Abstract

CD 1, tracks 1-8 and CD 2, tracks 2-8. American director, producer and screenwriter Sidney Lumet discusses his Jewish family background, swtiching his career from acting to directing and producing films, his political views, and his rise to fame in Hollywood. He talks about various productions that he directed such as 1983 production of the film "Daniel" that was based on the life story of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were convicted as spies and executed by the United States government in 1953 for giving nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union. He also shares his experience working with various actors and actresses such as Mandy Patinkin and Lindsay Crouse who played the Rosenbergs in the film "Daniel." CD 1, track 9.
