Interview with Ruth Currier conducted by John Gruen, as host, for broadcast on March 29, 1976 by radio station WNCN-FM, New York on its series The sound of dance. Streaming audio file (approximately 57 minutes). [Music and introductory remarks by Oscar Buhler]. John Gruen, as host, introduces Ruth Currier; Gruen and Ruth Currier speak about her position as artistic director of the José Limón Dance Company; working with the José Limón and Doris Humphrey, including their respective choreographic processes [a recording of music by Alexander Scriabin used in Currier's new work Storm warning is played]; the influence of Limón and Humphrey on her as a dancer and choreographer; her work Storm warning; Fred Matthews' new work Solaris; the various productions of Limón's The moor's pavane [a recording of the music by Johann Sebastian Bach used in Doris Humphrey's Air for the G string is played]; Gruen and Currier speak about Air for the G string and Doris Humphrey; Gruen's closing remarks.
