Notes
Content: "The women of Burma are much more attractive than the men, the complexion being more ruddy and the features more regular: the hair is very luxuriant and always well dressed. The costume is a dainty white jacket and coloured 'lungyi,' or, in the case of those of superior position, a 'temaine' or skirt of greater length so that it trails upon the ground; it is open at the side, exposing the leg nearly to the hips in walking. Leogryphs are common objects in Burma, and immense ones guard the great Pagodas of Arkan and Shwe Dagon."--printed on verso.
Statement of responsibility: "'Wide Wide-World' series Burma. Series III. Raphael Tuck & Sons' 'Oilette' postcard 7867. From 'Burma,' illustrated by R. Talbot Kelly (A. & C. Black)."--printed on verso.
