Extent: 1 print : etching, stipple engraving, hand-colored ; 26 x 69 cm.
Description
Depiction of men and women wearing fashions of the late eighteenth century. Some are dancing in couples or striking dance-like positions; others appear to be conversing or observing the dancers. At the right, a woman swoons in her partner's arms. The exaggeration of the participants' facial features and bodily postures suggest the artist's satirical intent.
