Biographical/historical: Julius Mendes Price, 1857-1924, was a British painter and illustrator. He contributed drawings of the Italian front to the Illustrated London News during World War I.

Description
Portrayal of a female dancer, seated backstage behind a theatrical flat. She clasps her hands around her raised left knee. The skirt of her tutu, which has been raised behind her to prevent crushing, forms a flower-like frame around her.
