Abstract

According to Kathryn Donovan Wiegand's paper, ethnomusicologist Alice Fletcher used John Comfort Fillmore as a technical advisor of transcribing songs from the Omaha tribe, unfortunately using European-based harmonies to temper the natural melodies.
