Helen Tamiris and Daniel Nagrin speak with Florence Becker Lennon, host of the series Enjoyment of poetry, on radio station WEVD (New York, N.Y.), about the significance of Walt Whitman's poetry for them. The date is not identified but may be in the 1960s. Streaming audio file (approximately 29 minutes). [Ambient noise.] The program host [Florence Becker Lennnon], reads aloud excerpts of poems by Walt Whitman and introduces the program and her guests, Helen Tamiris and Daniel Nagrin; Helen Tamiris and Daniel Nagrin discuss the significance of Walt Whitman's poetry for them and the dances they have created set to his poetry including Helen Tamiris' Walt Whitman suite and Daniel Nagrin's Faces; they also each read aloud from Walt Whitman's poetry including poems used in their respective dances. The program closes with Florence Becker Lennon reading aloud of an excerpt of a Walt Whitman poem. Streaming audio file (approximately 29 minutes).
