Content: Includes handwritten captions in both English and Spanish: "Streets where yesteryear's Negroes lived near their Chapel" at the top of page; three separate photo captions "Calle del Conde Negro," "Ninos jugando en la calle" and "Otra vista de la calle."
Biographical/historical: During his travel to Spain in 1926, Arthur Schomburg encountered the Negro Brotherhood of Seville, a community of the remaining descendants of African slaves brought to Seville in the 1500s.
