Relief shown by spot heights. Covers the area between Tamaqua and Coaldale in eastern Schuylkill County, Pa. Shows coal mining area, mine tunnels, and railroads, contours relating to the coal basins, roads and populated places. Oriented with north to the upper right. In upper right margin: Volume 1 of southern coal field, mine sheet no. [?]. Description based on imperfect copy; parts lacking in title area and elsewhere along top of map. Includes notes and a geological section of Lansford Basin. "Constructed from the surveys of the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company and the Second Geological Survey of Pennsylvania."
