Description
William Whitener, appointed to the post of artistic director of the State Ballet of Missouri as successor to Todd Bolender, talks about his recent work as artistic director of Les Ballets-Jazz de Montréal and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. He recalls his early dance training in Seattle, where he attended the Cornish School; his eight years in the Joffrey Ballet; performing in Bob Fosse's Broadway show Dancin'; and his work with Twyla Tharp, with whom he danced The Catherine wheel. In conclusion, he discusses some premieres and revivals planned for the State Ballet of Missouri in the near future.
