Description
Interview with Alberto del Saz conducted by Kimberly Gibilisco on December 1, 1996 at the Joyce Theater in New York, N.Y. Streaming file 1 (approximately 30 minutes). Alberto del Saz, also known as Tito, speaks with Kimberly Gibilisco about his responsibilities as the Rehearsal Director and Coordinator and Co-reconstruction Coordinator for the Nikolais and Murray Louis Dance Company; the challenges of reconstruction including his experiences with Alwin Nikolais's works Tent and Imago; how original casts have responded upon seeing performances of reconstructed works; Del Saz's relationship with Nikolais especially during Nikolais's final illness; the documentation and preservation of Nikolais's life work including Nikolais's choreography and pedagogy; teaching Nikolais's technique [ends abruptly].
