Extent: 1 print : etching, hand-colored ; 27 x 19 cm., plate mark 18 x 13 cm.
Description
Depiction of a woman and a man in ethnic costume, probably of a region in Italy, dancing in a landscape. The woman holds out her lace apron as she dances; the top of her garment is yellow, with full sleeves and a broad white collar, while her skirt is red trimmed in blue at the hem. Her tall black hat sports matching plumes of yellow, red, and blue. The man wears a similar black hat, with a white shirt, striped sash, blue breeches, and white stockings. He plays a lute as he dances. In the distance behind them is a Palladian-style house with columns.
