Extent: 1 audiocassette (approximately 1 hr., 5 min.) : quarter-track; 1.875 ips.
Sound quality is fair. The recording is marred by extraneous noise including "tape hiss" and occasional short gaps, and at times, the speakers' voices are difficult to understand.
Abstract
Interview with Edmund LaFosse conducted by John Gruen on November 17,1975 in New York City, as research for an article entitled Spotlight on:Edmund LaFosse, which appeared in the June 1977 issue of Dance magazine. Streaming file 1 (approximately 48 minutes). Edmund LaFosse speaks with John Gruen about his background and training; dancing with the National Ballet in Washington, D.C. including the lead in Balanchine's Prodigal son; joining the Feld Ballet; rehearsing Eliot Feld's work Mazurka with Naomi [Sorkin]; some of his roles; his overall satisfaction with the company; Eliot Feld; some of the other dancers; why he dances; his practice of Buddhist chanting; his goals as a dancer [ends abruptly but continues on streaming file 2].
