Abstract
Broadcast version of an interview with American composer Johnny Mercer. Mercer speaks about his career as a composer, songwriter, lyricist, performer and businessman. He discusses such topics as his childhood in Savannah, Georgia, Broadway and Hollywood achievements, and partnerships with colleagues. He also talks about the craft of lyric writing, his views on the music of today, and musical influences.
