Five dance therapists, Joan Chodorow, Jane Downes, Susan Sandel, Barbara Estrin, and Sharon Chaiklin, are seen at work in private practice and in children's and adults' psychiatric hospitals, nursing homes, and prisons. They demonstrate and discuss the use of movement as a means of self-exploration, establishing interpersonal communication and trust, creating a sense of individual and group identity, and achieving inner control.
