Abstract

Part 1. Two acting couples, Anne Jackson and Eli Wallach, and Jessica Walter and Ron Leibman, discuss the connection between their personal and professional relationships. Jackson and Wallach have co-starred together since March 5, 1948 (until the death of Wallach on June 24, 2014); and Walter and Leibman co-starred together in various productions such as Neil Simon's play "Rumors," which opened on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre on November 17, 1988. Part 2. Leida Snow conducts The Drama Desk panel’s discussion on various problems related to production of musicals: playwriting, creation, direction, producing, casting, musical direction, critics and audience recognition, and others. The discussion was held during The Drama Desk’s last meeting of the 1988-89 season.
