Abstract
"The garden of Horikiri is exclusively devoted to the cultivation of the iris. There you may see its many varieties, from white through all the shades of mauve and lilac to purple, and to a blue that is almost black, so deep it is. In the beginning of June a continual stream of sightseers threads it way with one object in view--the iris garden, and in the garden besides the flowers are to be found all sorts of little souvenirs on which the iris is painted, to be carried home as momentoes of the visit."--printed on verso.
