Abstract

Lewis Archibald, a journalist who wrote for the magazine "Downtown," interviews Ingrid Bergman, a Swedish-born actress, who starred in a variety of European and American films. A winner of three Academy Awards, Bergman discusses her relationships with the characters she knew and worked with, including Selznick, Garbo, Bogart, Gary Cooper and others. She reveals the story of her personal life, her childhood in Sweden, her marriages. She also talks about her European and American acting career and recalls her starring roles as Ilsa Lund in Casablanca (1942), a World War II drama co-starring Humphrey Bogart, and as Alicia Huberman in Notorious (1946), an Alfred Hitchcock thriller co-starring Cary Grant.
