Venue: Videotaped in rehearsal at the Cunningham studio, Westbeth, New York City, Nov. 6, 1997.
Biographical/historical: Ocean premiered at the Cirque Royal in Brussels on May 18, 1994, with a musical score by David Tudor and Andrew Culver, based on ideas of John Cage. Ocean was in performed in the repertory of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company in 1997.
