Abstract

Vivian Wang presents the production of the play Deshima as a part of the arts festival held in Singapore, summer [1996]. Includes excerpts from the interview with Ping Chong, Asian-American contemporary theater director, choreographer, video and installation artist, and fragments of the show that he conceived and directed. Chong discusses the production, a documentary collage of the history of the West and Japan, that played at the Victoria Theatre, Singapore, [summer 1996] .
