Description
Interview with dancer-choreographer Robert Small, who discusses the formation of his company, the choreographic and thematic differences between modern dance and classical ballet, the creative process of making a modern dance piece, modern dance performers and audiences, and other subjects. As an illustration, Eddie Taketa dances an excerpt from Small's dance work Out of kilter. The program closes with a full performance of Out of kilter (music, Jon Scoville ; costumes, Martha Yoshida).
