Abstract

Audivisual work created to enhance audience engagement with White Oak Dance Project's "Past Forward". The content provides a brief introduction to and history of Judson Dance Theater, narrated by Mikhail Baryshnikov, as well as commentary from Judson choreographers on past and present work. Choreographic works listed for performance include: "Chair" (David Gordon); "Satisfyin' Lover" (Steve Paxton); "Flat" (Steve Paxton); "Whizz" (Deborah Hay); "Chair/ Pillow" (Yvonne Rainer); "Homemade" (Trisha Brown); "Foray Foret" (Trisha Brown); "Trio A Pressured #3" (Yvonne Rainer); "The Matter" (David Gordon); Concerto (Lucinda Childs); and "Huddle" (Simone Forti). Current and archival performance clips within the piece include Simone Forti in "Scramble" and "Huddle"; Yvonne Rainer in "Trio A"; Mikhail Baryshnikov in "Homemade"; and Lucinda Childs.
