SUMMARY: The sections of the work are Anticipation (George Willard), Mother (Elizabeth Willard), Nobody knows (Louise Trunnion and George), Queer (Elmer Cowley), Adventure (Alice Hindman), Strength of God (Rev. Curtis Hartman), Parting (Mrs. Willard and George), and Departure (George). In the first run-through, danced by members of the Jeff Duncan Dance Repertory Company, the second section, Mother, is missing. The second run-through, danced by NYU students, is incomplete, including only the sections Anticipation, Mother, Nobody knows, Queer, and Adventure.

Venue: Videotaped in stage rehearsal at the American Theater Laboratory, New York, on May 29, 1976, in preparation for Dance Theater Workshop Retrospective performances in June 1976.
Creation/production credits: Choreography: Jeff Duncan. Music: Collage of American folk music, arranged by Jeff Duncan. Libretto: Sherwood Anderson. Costumes: Leor Warner.
Performers: Performed twice, first by members of the Jeff Duncan Dance Repertory Company, then by students of the New York University School of the Arts. The first cast includes Jeff Duncan (George Willard), Kathryn Posin (Louise Trunnion), John Wilson (?), Jim May (?), and others. The second cast is led by Michael Aitchison (George Willard).
Funding: Preservation of this video was supported by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
