DescriptionSheet music cover illustration depicting a crowded ballroom. Under a large chandelier, the guests are engaged in various activities. Many of them are reaching for food or wine. Only one couple, in the foreground, appears to be dancing, accompanied by a woman at left at an upright piano. At right, a young woman gazes up at an older woman, possibly her mother or chaperon, who leads forward a young man, perhaps to introduce him. The rather frenetic activity in this print suggests a satirical or at least tongue-in-cheek intent on the artist's part.
