Shows routes of Captains Stansbury, Fremont, Gunnison, and Beckwith. Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. In lower right margin: Facsimile reproduction by the Graphic Co. Includes table of "Geographical positions established by Capt. Simpson." "The old routes have been taken from the maps of Utah and Oregon compiled by the Burea of Top'l Eng'rs in 1858-59, and Geo. H. Goddard's map of California , compiled in 1860." Also see: Report of explorations across the great basin of the territory of Utah for a direct wagon-route from Camp Floyd to Genoa, in Carson Valley, in 1859, by Captain J.H. Simpson, Washington, Govt. Printing Office, 1876.
