Content: The Kurt Fisher Haitian Photograph Collection depicts some aspects of Haitian history, covering the time period of the early 1800s and the late 1920s to 1950s. The collection consists of individual and group portraits and candid shots of Haitian Revolutionary and political leaders; early views of the island of Hispaniola when it was known as St. Domingue; an architectural view; and photo scrapbook pages prepared by a Haitian government agency. The collection lacks images from the mid-1800s to themid-1920s, and from the late 1950s onward.
