Description
Autograph document signed. "Received...............hundred dollars for a Negro Boy, by the name of John, of black complexion about nineteen years old. I warrant him to be sound, healthy, sensible, a slave for life and title to be good." Marginal note: "Get the biggest price you can in Confederate money." [Presumably amount was to have been filled in when buyer found and price agreed upon.]
