Content: Printed on border: "… The arrangement of the flowers, whilst preserving the type of nature, skilfully produces a certain diaper flat affect. The design is well relieved on a simple ground, and the introduction of the higher lights on the flowers gives a brilliant liveliness to a print, which will at the same time please the rather sombre taste of the present day. Nearly the same remarks apply to the brick-coloured cotton, though this last is perhaps somewhat less novel …"
