Content: Written on border: "July 1890" Printed on border: "531" "From the Masai Land are shown, among other things, three handsome war head-dresses of black ostrich-feathers; and also the entire dress of a Mahdi woman, consisting of a band of plaited string with a fringe, having along its upper edge a row of little metal bosses, and completed with a small triangular pendant having a longer fringe. More uncomfortable ornaments than the brass anklets worn by women of the Ebo country can hardly be imagined." "Among the collection of personal ornaments is a bracelet of the Aggry beads, valued on the Gold Coast at their exact weight in gold dust." Includes additional text.
