Notes
Content: Depictions of five types of Phoenician canoes. Printed on opposite page of source: "PLANCHE BB TOME II. Nos. 1,2,3,4,5, Canots Pheniciens, pag. 110 et 112." Phoenician attribution may be erroneous as these resemble vessels from the Pacific Rim. Tentative identifications are: 1. Peruvian balsa raft 2. Inuit or Siberian umiak, a kind of rowing boat. 2,4. Outrigger canoes of Polynesia. 5. Dugout canoe of Hawaii or New Zealand.
