Description
Radio interview with Alfred Brendel, Austrian pianist, poet and author, who is widely considered to be one of the greatest pianists of all time. Brendel talks about his life, background and career as a musician, his writings and his influences such as pianists Edwin Fischer and Artur Schnabel. He also discusses the composers whose music he likes to play such as Schubert, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and others, of whose music he is regarded one of the major interpreters, and explains why he does not play Chopin during his performances. He also discusses the meaning of intellectuality and humanity in music for him.
