Content : Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller, a sculptor, was born in Philadelphia in 1877. She was one of the first renowned Africa-American women sculptors in the United States and was known for dealing with the African-American experience in her work and depicting African-American subjects at a time when such themes were considered too controversial.
