Biographical/historical: Paul Robeson in Blaine, Washington, near the United States and Canadian border, where he had been denied admission into Canada to address a meeting of the Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers Union in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1952. He would later that year give a concert for the union in Peace Arch Park, in Blaine, which could be heard on both sides of the international border.
