Description
Martin Bookspan interviews American composer and lyricist Burton Lane during an undated broadcast. Lane speaks about his career as a musical composer and songwriter. He comments on his songs; his music that he wrote for various Broadway musicals such as Finian's rainbow (1947) and Hold on to your hats (1940), for motion pictures such as Dancing lady, Babes on Broadway, Royal Wedding (1951); and his collaborators. He also introduces the new musical On a clear day you can see forever (music by Burton Lane, book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner).
