Originally published as map III in the geology section of Vol. 5, pt. II of the War Dept.'s Reports of explorations and surveys, to ascertain the most practicable and economical route for a railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean, which was published as Senate, 33rd Congress, 2nd session, executive document no. 78. "U.S.P.R.R. Exp. & Surveys"--Upper left margin. Relief shown by hachures.
