CONTENTS: Introduction by Patricia Kerr Ross (approx. 5 min.). -- Opening of Shelton's lecture (approx. 7 min.), describing some characteristics shared by early modern dancers (1890-1910), among them St. Denis, Isadora Duncan, Loïe Fuller, and Maud Allan, in contrast to those of established dance forms. Her remarks on the influence of Delsartism were not fully recorded. -- Excerpt from Sherman's lecture (approx. 9 min.), which corrects the misconception that the Denishawn company lacked technique.
