[Beeping noises.] Bill Moyers speaks about his guest, Sol Hurok and the upcoming gala performance in honor of his 85th birthday; Sol Hurok speaks with Moyers about his early years including how he first came to the United States and his first few years producing concerts; his views on television as a means for bringing culture to mass audiences; how he feels about government support for the arts; his hopes to bring Chinese artists to the United States; how he defines an impresario; his delight in taking a curtain call; Marian Anderson; his memories of Anna Pavlova and Isadora Duncan [closing remarks; music].
