Language: In German. Opera by Gian-Carlo Menotti. Produced by Rudolf Sander. Staged by Menotti and directed for television by Joachim Hess. Libretto by Menotti, translated into German by Kurt Honolka. Choreography and costumes for the Globolinks by Alwin Nikolais. Performed by members of the Hamburg Staatsoper, and by members of the Hamburg Staatsoper Ballet (as the Globolinks). Cast includes Edith Mathis (Emily), Arlene Saunders (Mme Euterpova), Raymond Wolansky (Dr. Stone), William Workman (Tony), Kurt Marschner (Timothy), Ursula Boese (Miss Newkirk), Franz Grundheber (Mr. Lavender-Gas), Noël Mangin (Dr. Turtlespit), and children from the Kinderchor des Norddeutschen Rundfunks and from the Gymnasium Eppendorf.
