Statement of responsibility: Collected & Arranged by Thomas McLean. [Vol I: 1818-1830 & Vol. II: 1813-after 1832]
Content: Social caricatures, chiefly from the reign of George IV, including satires of animals in human situations, dancing, eating & drinking, fashion, food, hats, negroes, opera and transportation, especially by steam. A caricature of the ceremony of crossing the equator is on p. 165.
Content: Printmakers include George Cruikshank, Robert Cruikshank, William Heath, Theodore Lane and Robert Seymour. Most are by William Heath and are signed with a small figure of Paul Pry in a characteristic pose.
