Biographical/historical: This might be choreographer Suzushi Hanayagi's copy. Hanayagi and Itō did work together in the dance "9 Heads 1000 Eyes 990 Hands 6 Legs", which first premiered at the Fashion Institute of Technology in April 9, 1962. However, it is uncertain if "Asura" is connected with that project.

Extent: 1 audiotape reel (16 min., 35 sec.) : analog, half-track, 7 1/2 ips, mono ; 7 in.
Description
Part 1 features music from an avant garde instrumental ensemble (dance music), featuring objects played as percussion instruments, a prepared piano (with objects on the strings), a cello (?), a flute, accordion, thumb harp (?) and other unidentifed instruments. Part 2 features a live rehearsal recording of an unidentified vocalist singing songs and reciting lines [excerpts of "Song of the center" and "Song of chaos" from Brecht's play "Caucasian chalk circle"], with an added accordion. (Caucasian chalk circle was performed in New York in April 1966. However, it is uncertain if the recordings were made in 1966.)
