Notes
Content: A 17th-century merchant ship struggles against a storm in this small but elegant illustration. The vessel heels over from the force of the wind and white-capped waves, and its sails are tattered and yards askew on the masts. Figures can be glimpsed through the windows in the elaborately-carved stern.
