Preceded by letters patent from Joseph Wanton, Governor of Rhode Island, dated Aug. 6, 1773, appointing John Grelea, Jr., Justice of the Peace. D. S., J. Wanton, and Henry Ward, Secry. With seal of the colony affixed. Endorsed: "Lieut. Walter Chaloner to Mr John Sherwood"; "Jos Wanton Gov & Comr in Chief in Rhode Island"; and "Entd 30 Sept 1773. No. 4. R.R. Fol. 286. W. S.
