Content: [Dai Jo Chun] This Palace includes the private chambers of the King and Queen. Five Kings (Sungjong, 9th; Injo, 16th; Hyojong, 17th; Chuljojing, 25th and Soonjong, 27th) died in this palace. Fist built in 1404, destroyed in 1592, rebuilt in 1609 and 1804, and renovated in 1908. [5] [Hi Jung Dang] First built in 1404 and destroyed by fire during the Japanese invasion in 1592, rebuilt in 1609 and 1804, and renovated in 1908. This palace was chiefly used for the audience given to royal family and relatives. During the early years of Kojong, the 26th King, Empress Dowager Cho Dai Bi acted as regent for the young King in this Palace (1864-1866). [6]
