Manuscript note written in pencil and ink on a scrap of white paper, possibly late 1850s. On the verso: Autograph letter (draft) to his mother, Louisa Van Velsor Whitman, Wednesday evening, 20 min[utes] after 7; Holograph manuscript written in pencil on a scrap of white paper, undated. Text cancelled by Whitman with a vertical stroke in pencil. In Volume III of: Walt Whitman. Holograph manuscript fragments assembled by Dr. Richard Maurice Bucke.
