Description
Part 1. Leida Snow interviews Joe Raposo, a Portuguese-American composer, songwriter, pianist, television writer and lyricist, who talks about his personal and professional background; his musical career, such as his work on the children's television series Sesame Street, for which he wrote the theme song, as well as, classic songs such as "Bein' Green" and "C is for Cookie"; his work on the recordings of the Sesame Street albums and his experience recording songs with various well-known singers, such as Barbra Streisand, Lena Horne, Dizzy Gillespie, Paul Simon, and Jose Feliciano; and shares his memories about Frank Sinatra who recorded four of Raposo's songs for his album “Ol' blue eyes is back” (1973). Excerpts from his musical works composed for Sesame Street are played during the program. Part 2. Leida Snow interviews Genya Ravan, American rock singer and producer, who talks about her family, the Polish and Russian roots of her name "Genya"; her professional background; her career as a singer and producer; about women in the rock music business; and about the release of her new album "Urban desire" (1978). Excerpts from various of her songs are played during the program.
