Content: Printed on border: "The court-martial appointed to try Lieut. J. A. Maney, of the Fifteenth United States Infantry, at Fort Snelling, Minn. on what is practically a charge of murdering a brother officer, has given rise to a most interesting point of law. The point is whether a man, having been tried and acquitted on a charge of murder by a jury of his peers, may have his life placed in jeopardy a second time on the same charge." Includes additional text. Written on border: "June 16, 1894" Smudges on image.
